Grounding 2026 / Gungahlin, ACT
In collaboration with Art Common.
The concept of Grounding draws on aerial views of Mulangarri and Gungaderra Grassland Reserves, revealing subtle pathways shaped by humans and animals. These delicate threads inspire a participatory artwork where community members walk a clay circle, pressing their presence into the earth.
Each step echoes the patterns seen from above, transforming the surface into a living archive. The clay, marked by movement and connection, is then hand-cut into tiles and fired, preserving traces of shared experience. Installed onsite, the work becomes a lasting testament to the community’s engagement with place and the rhythms that bind people and landscape together.
